BAFTAs 2014

The best & silly things about the BAFTAs this year (if we ignore who won and lost):

#1   Stephen Fry.
#2   Stephen Fry's introduction to Emma Thompson:
"In film, a goddess.  In real life, a stinking piece of offal."

#3   The awesome orchestral versions of pop songs that played throughout the night.
#4   The fact that the orchestra didn't play any of those song over anyone's acceptance speeches.
#5   Prince Williams' smoking slippers
#6   Helen Mirren's stone face as the introduction to her award win harped on about her 'sexiness.'
#7   Stephen Fry correcting David O. Russell's grammar . . . since he was receiving a writing award.
#8   Oprah & David Oyelowo on the red carpet.  They were having such a good time.
#9   Steve Coogan laughing merrily at Stephen Fry's jokes.
#10 The continued evidence that Emma Thompson is slowly turning into a hybrid of her mother and Maggie Smith.
#11  Michael Sheen's presence.  He is great.
#12 Ruth Wilson totally showing up Angelina Jolie's tuxedo-wearing skills.
#13  Helen McCrory's hugely tall hair.  It looked fab.
#14  Stephen Fry's vocabulary.  Looking up all those words = excellent 6th grade English assignment.
#15 Being able to the watch the BAFTAs (abridged version) on BBCA!!!
